Recent Writing Activity

I have been writing pretty consistently lately. I have almost finished a draft of my first short story. It takes place in the same world as my "novel" and involves some of the characters. I quote "novel" because I will not necessarily be publishing it in that form. I have also written drafts of several shorter stories unrelated to my main story. These are shorter, in the range of a 500 - 1000 words. My first short story will probably be around 2000 words.

I plan on making it the first of three short stories that I will finish before I start writing my novel. In the mean time I plan on writing several more of the shorter stories, or flash fiction as they are called.

I am publishing drafts and some other content on Patreon if anyone is interested. I have some plans for after my novel also. Maybe a second book.

Writing Start 2

hello something where bear plants trees outside dirt grass animals trees perspective At first it was dark. I was contained, but I new what to do. I began stretching out, pushing through the dirt. I could feel the moist soil all around me. Then suddenly part of me burst out into light. I could feel the rays on my first leaf as it spread out. The light moved quickly and faded to darkness in the West, but reappeared just as quickly in the East. This cycle, I call them days and nights, continued for some time. In the meantime I continued to expand, both through the moist soil and out into the air. I grew a few more leaves and stretched higher into the air. I was able to move my leaves just fast enough so I could feel the light for the whole day from East to West. This continued for many cycles. Then I began to notice the days changing. Replaced

Staring at the wall, I can see shapes. They seem alive. Are they trying to communicate with me? Should I try to communicate with them? I'll reach out with my mind. They are moving. Does it mean something? That one is turning a deep blue, like staring into the depths of the ocean. Maybe it is angry. Did I make it angry? It's coming away from the wall towards me now. I can't seem to move. It is surrounding me. Now the other shapes are here, each a different color. Red moves in front of my face, taking on a ghostly form. I can see a face forming, eyes and a mouth. The mouth splits open, showing darkness inside. "Who are you?" I say. "Who are you?" Red echos back. Blue still surrounds us. How did I get here? Is this some kind of dream? Just then, Purple takes shape to my right and pushes up against me. It seems like they are real. "Who are you?" Red says again. "John" I sa...

Patreon Post and Other Updates

I haven't posted here or on Patreon for several months. Hopefully this will be the start of some new posts. I posted on Patreon today also. I got an email from Patreon about a writers group that is going to be meeting once a week. This motivated me to post again. I'm also going to try attending those meetings. Hopefully that will keep me motivated to keep writing. That's all for today.
